DWI Overview

Driving while intoxicatedIf you have been charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), you should contact an attorney as rapidly as possible. Why? Not only is your freedom at risk, but your driver’s license, and your ability to make a living.  Make sure that you keep and read all of the information that you were given by the officer at the time of your arrest and make sure that you show it to your attorney.   You have to be very careful that you don’t waive any rights through delay or your failure to act.

In addition, whenever you are arrested, you need to sit down and write out what you were doing prior to the arrest with as much detail as possible.   You also need to write down what happened during the actual arrest.   This is important because memories fade, and the details may become crucial to your defense.

Also, if you have health issues that effect your balance, your eye sight or your responses, you should make a note of them so that you can advise your attorney.  They may be a factor in your defense.
